Arsenal legend Ian Wright has given his opinion on what impressed him about Arsenal in their 2-0 defeat against Man City on Sunday.

Wright was talking in general about specific players and gave a glowing review of Liverpool new boy Naby Keita, he then moved onto Matteo Guendouzi.

‘Later on Sunday afternoon another less obvious new boy impressed me in Arsenal’s young midfielder Guendouzi,’ Wright said.

‘Yes, he found it tough going at times against City but what impressed me was his attitude and effervescence.

‘It would have been easy to hide – let’s face it, others in the Arsenal side did – but he was still demanding the ball, still showing and still battling to the end.

‘Gunners fans left the Emirates desperately looking for positives after an opening loss and Guendouzi was the biggest one of all.’

Guendouzi was certainly impressive considering who the opponents were and that this was his first Premier League game for the Gunners.

Hopefully he can kick on and improve further and become a great asset.
